Dear everyone,
so much has happened since my last update! It also has been a while, I'm sorry. The laptop broke down a while ago and I couldn't update my blog on my phone. I am now on Kathy's worklaptop :)
Well, volleyball has been a while ago already. I really liked it, and I am planning to play it in the Netherlands too! Uhm, let's see. Halloween was October 31st, it was soooo awesome!! I was dressed up as Abby Sciuto from NCIS <3 haha. I went to the EF Halloween party, where we carved pumpkins! And I won the price for best outfit haha :) and I went trick or treating with Cassidy and Schuyler it was fun :)
If you've read my facebookupdates you'll know that the main thing that I've been doing is watching movies (I almost watched all the Harry Potter movies), playing games (boardgames and videogames) and watch NCIS :) and school of course :) and sleeping.
I also made the dance team, so I'll be doing that during the winter!! It's really awesome and we'll perform a few times at half-time at some basketballgames!! Really awesome!! We've been practicing a dance now on the old Footloose song :) it's really cool!
Thanksgiving was really nice! we had a break from school, that's never a problem, and a lot of food! We also brought a Dutch dish, boerenkoolstamppot met worst!! (potato, kale and smoked sausage). We went to 2 Thanksgiving dinners :)
I also read all three Hunger Games books during the Thanksgiving break and I love them!!!
We also celebrated Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas), which is a Dutch holiday which kind of resembles Christmas (old guy giving presents to children), which we have NEXT TO Christmas! But Christmas in the Netherlands is way small. My Dutch parents had sent a box with gifts, sooo nice <3 it was a lot of fun
I also had a solo at the Christmas choir concert!!!! It went really well and I got a lot of positive reactions!! :)
My and Kathy went to the EF Christmas party and we had to bring a Dutch dish so we made OLIEBOLLEN! Which is basically a ball of dough with cinnamon, shortly boiled in VERY HOT oil and with a lot of powdered sugar over it! They didn't look like they were supposed to and I'm pretty sure we had way too much cinnamon but they were still VERY VERY GOOD :)
And Christmas was SO MUCH FUN!!! The house is filled with Christmas decorations, since November already. And last Friday we opened the presents under the tree!! My hostfamily is sooo sweet I got so many nice things! We had to wait until after supper so we ate really fast and we did the dishes really fast haha :)
Saturday we went to Rapid City, where my American aunt and uncle live and we celebrated Christmas with the family :) More nice gifts, and watching movies and playing games :) and gooood foood. We stayed there until Sunday afternoon :) It was a lot of fun :) I've watched way more Christmas movies now than I ever had in the Netherlands haha :)
Also it is basketballseason now and Cassidy and Kole both play basketball, so I'll be going to a lot of games :)
But one of the most amazing, American, new things is ICEHOCKEY!!! I've been to two games so far and it is SO AWESOME!!! Gooo Rapid City Rush <3 and they've won both games I went to!! :) I just love the experience and the atmosphere and EVERYTHING <3
